About Wroxall Parish Council

Welcome to the website of Wroxall Parish Council. The Parish Council is the first tier of local government for the civil parish of Wroxall, Isle of Wight. It is not responsible for the ecclesiastical parish (church affairs).

The Parish Council is comprised of locally-elected volunteers who meet monthly to discuss local issues, comment on planning applications and manage projects paid for from the parish budget (financed from the annual precept that forms part of the Council Tax collected by the Isle of Wight Council).

The next elections for the Parish Council will be in May 2017, but from time to time casual vacancies occur that may be filled by co-option. If you would like to be considered for co-option, and can attend Monday evening meetings, please contact the Chairman. You must live in the village (or within 3 miles of its boundary).

The Parish Council employs a professional Clerk on a part-time basis. The Parish Council leases the children’s play area in St Martin’s Rd from Southern Housing, and in turn sub-leases this to the volunteer group Wroxall-in-Action, which looks after the area.
